Emerson College's Ross Lippman Wins STAA's Jim Nantz Award

EMERSON COLLEGE Senior ROSS LIPPMAN has been named the winner of SPORTSCASTERS TALENT AGENCY OF AMERICA's JIM NANTZ Award for the nation’s most outstanding collegiate sports broadcaster. The trophy will be presented to LIPPMAN at the NATIONAL SPORTSCASTERS AND SPORTSWRITERS ASSOCIATION’s annual awards banquet on JUNE 10th in SALISBURY, NC.
“Immediately after watching ROSS’s video submission I knew he was going to be a finalist for the award,” said STAA CEO JON CHELESNIK. “His ability jumped off the screen. He’s a terrific writer and performer.”
“The purpose of the JIM NANTZ Award and All-AMERICA program is to encourage collegiate sports broadcasters to strive to achieve JIM’s professionalism and excellence,” CHELESNIK added.
Judges for this season’s awards included CHELESNIK, BOISE STATE's BOB BEHLER, ATLANTA FALCONS and GEORGIA TECH voice WES DURHAM, TULSA UNIVERSITY's BRUCE HOWARD, UNIVERSITY OF VIRGINIA's DAVE KOEHN, and KANSAS STATE's WYATT THOMPSON.
