Condolences to family, friends, and fans of hit songwriter ALAN O'DAY, who died FRIDAY (5/17) in LOS ANGELES of cancer at 72.
O'DAY, best known to the public for his number one hit single "Undercover Angel" on Pacific Records in 1977, wrote hits for others, including the RIGHTEOUS BROTHERS' "Rock and Roll Heaven" and HELEN REDDY's "Angie Baby." He also composed the music, with JANIS LIEBHART, for the television series "MUPPET BABIES" (for which he was nominated for an Emmy), "REALLY WILD ANIMALS," and "ANIMAL TALES." Most recently, he released an album, "I Hear Voices," in 2008.
