MILWAUKEE RADIO ALLIANCE Alternative WLUM/MILWAUKEE has re-launched as "FM 102.1 INDEPENDENT ALTERNATIVE RADIO," under recently appointed PD JACENT JACKSON.
On MONDAY (7/10) at 6a, WLUM teased with "QUICK 102" for a couple days by playing non-stop 10-second snippets of songs with a computer automated voice promising to play 200 songs in a row or win 200 in dough.
At 5p on TUESDAY, JACKSON relaunched the station with a new on-air line-up and significantly expanded the station's music library. WLUM has dropped its "REQUEST LUNCH" and "LOVELINE."
The New FM 102.1 on-air line-up is:
Mornings -- KRAMP & ADLER
Middays -- CHRIS CALEF (previously nights)
Noon-1p -- "FLANNEL FLASHBACK" 80s and '90s
Afternoons -- JACENT JACKSON
Nights -- MICHELLE RUTKOWSKI
11p-Mid (SUNDAY-THURSDAY) -- "INDIE SOUNDCHECK" indie and underground music.JACENT JACKSON told ALL ACCESS, "Great radio stations know who they are, do things passionately, are known for a genre of music, and are consistently entertaining in between. This change reflects those values."
The new station website is www.fm1021milwaukee.com.
