LINKIN PARK's CHESTER BENNINGTON and PHOENIX invaded ALL-PRO BROADCASTING Alternative KCXX (X103.9)/RIVERSIDE-SAN BERNARDINO on WEDNESDAY (6/5) during PD/afternooner JOHN DESANTIS "HAPPY HOUR" at 5p for a station takeover. CHESTER talked about his dual role as front man for LINKIN PARK and STONE TEMPLE PILOTS, picked the music for an hour, and performed an acoustic version of "The Messenger."
The 5p hour on X103.9 included a LINKIN PARK fourplay "Pts Of Athrty (Remix)," "Runaway," "Papercut," Burn It Down," "Castle Of Glass," GUNS N' ROSES "Paradise City," RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE "Bombtrack," and RIGHT SAID FRED "I'm Too Sexy," and 2 PAC/DR. DRE "California Love."
CHESTER then met with listeners waiting outside the station -- taking pictures and signing autographs. It's apparent through his music and his passion for people, that he has had hard times in life. CHESTER without hesitation gave a homeless man more than just a few dollars; he gave him time and real attention. They chatted about music, IRELAND and tattoos.
