WTLT Flips To New Rock 93X

WXNX/Ft. Myers

SUN BROADCASTING AC WTLT/FT. MYERS/NAPLES has flipped to "NEW ROCK 93X" with new call letters WXNX.  LANCE BALLANCE remains as PD.

This news follows the merge earlier this week of Active Rock WJBX (99X) with Rock/Talk WRXK (96 K-ROCK) (See NET NEWS 6/17). In a Press Release SUN BROADCASTING hopes to "keep the X brand of music alive."

SUN also said "93X is a New Rock radio station that is programmed for listeners who love Mainstream and Alternative Rock artists such as ALICE IN CHAINS, PEARL JAM, STONE TEMPLE PILOTS and GREEN DAY."

"This incredibly loyal audience was outraged to lose their brand of music to a talk radio station," said JIM SCHWARTZEL, VP/SUN BROADCASTING. "We were pleased to offer the X brand a home on 93.7 and will serve the audience with 24/7 Rock, and create a number of ways for listeners to interact with the station from social media and live events to contests."
