A JULY 19 ceremony at the FCC will honor former Commissioner BENJAMIN HOOKS, who was the first African-American to serve as a commissioner at the agency as well as a former head of the NAACP, judge, and civil rights leader. BROADCASTING AND CABLE reports that all five current commissioners and former commissioners ANDREW BARRETT and TYRONE BROWN, and former Chairman MICHAEL POWELL has been invited as well.
