Ed Glab Calls It A Career At WLS

The "Dean of WLS engineers," ED GLAB, has retired after 43 years at the station. His move closely follows the same move by CUMULUS Talk WLS-A/CHICAGO newsman JIM JOHNSON's announcment in APRIL (NET NEWS 4/30), after 45 years with the station.

The duo joined CUMULUS SVP/Programming and WLS-F PD JAN JEFFRIES for a retirement party last night at HARRY CARAY's  in CHICAGO (pictured left).

JOHNSON was the news personality for WLS radio giants LARRY LUJACK, JOHN LANDECKER, FRED WINSTON and GARY MEIER. GLAB began his WLS engineering career as board op for JOHN "RECORDS" LANDECKER during the "Boogie Check" era of the early 70s.
