The launch of RED ZEBRA BROADCASTING's Sports trimulcast on WBPS-WBZS-WKDL-A/WASHINGTON has formally been announced, with the stations to be known as TRIPLE X ESPN RADIO with calls WWXT (at 94.3/WARRENTON), WWXX (92.7/PRINCE FREDERICK), and WXTR-A (730 AM) and launching at 4p ET TUESDAY.
As previously reported on ALL ACCESS, former REDSKINS and JETS running back JOHN RIGGINS will handle afternoons 4-7p for the stations, joining from SIRIUS SATELLITE RADIO's SIRIUS NFL RADIO channel. LARRY MICHAEL will do a "REDSKINS LUNCH" midday hour Noon-1p daily from the REDSKINS PARK training facility, and the remainder of the lineup is from ESPN RADIO.
The three signals do not add up to 100% coverage of the market, especially at night, when the AM powers down and the DISTRICT itself loses coverage, so the stations will offer online streaming and a telephone and online "signal starter" tool to help listeners find the best signal in their area.
And the new stations are being voiced by CESD TALENT AGENCY clients JIM SNOWDEN and KELLY KELLY KELLY. SNOWDEN and KELLY are repped by NATE ZEITZ at CESD; reach him at (212) 477-1666 x136 or nzeitz@cesdtalent.com.
