The FCC has released its fiscal year 2006 regulatory fees, issuing its Report and Order concluding the docket that will collect $288,771,000 in fees and an additional $10 million required by the Deficit Reduction Act.
Fees will be due primarily in AUGUST and SEPTEMBER 2006, with fees calculated using the same methodology as in the past, dividing the target collection total by the aggregate number of "payment units" assessed across all categories, with adjustments based on revenue projections for each regulated industry. The result are fees ranging from $625 for a Class A AM serving less than 25,000 people to $9,125 for a Class B, C, C0, C1, or C2 station serving over 3 million.
