WRIF/DETROIT personality and ENVISION RADIO NETWORKS host/producer STEVE BLACK has written an autobiography, entitled "From Black to Light," which chronicles STEVE and his wife SABRINA's career, as well as SABRINA's life-ending battle against cancer. The two spent a combined 40 years on the radio, mainly in DETROIT; during SABRINA’s illness, STEVE found a way to take care of his wife and work from home by creating The Chop Shop Guitar Show, a syndicated radio show with his partners at ENVISION RADIO NETWORKS. "
'From Black to Light' is a very human story, one that could have happened to anyone of us," he said. "It’s a story about following your dreams, learning to love, dealing with loss and depression, and learning how to live all over again. What makes the story unique is the way it plays out, forever entwined with a wild cast of rock and roll icons."
"From Black to Light" includes stories and interviews with ALICE COOPER, BILLY GIBBONS (ZZ TOP), BOB EZRIN (PINK FLOYD, KISS), CHRIS SQUIRE (YES), DAVE GROHL (NIRVANA/FOO FIGHTERS), DAVE MURRAY (IRON MAIDEN), THE DOORS, DREAM THEATER, FRANK ZAPPA, GARY MOORE, GENE SIMMONS (KISS), GEORGE CLINTON (P-FUNK), SIR GEORGE MARTIN (BEATLES), JACK DOUGLASS (AEROSMITH), JOE SATRIANI, KID ROCK, KIRK HAMMETT (METALLICA), MICK JONES (FOREIGNER), PAUL O'NEILL (TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA), PETER FRAMPTON, RIK EMMETT (TRIUMPH), SAMMY HAGAR, SAVATAGE, SLASH, STEVE VAI, TED NUGENT, TOM MORELLO, TONY IOMMI (BLACK SABBATH), TOOL and ZAKK WYLDE (BLS/OZZY OSBOURNE).
The book also contains excerpts from SABRINA’s diary and her final thoughts written just days before her death. "From Black to Light" is on sale now at www.chopshopradio.com.
