Condolences to family and friends of longtime LOS ANGELES sportswriter and radio host BUD FURILLO, who died in his sleep overnight MONDAY night-TUESDAY morning in OJAI, CA at 80.
A sports reporter, editor, and columnist for HEARST's HERALD-EXPRESS and its successor HERALD EXAMINER from 1947 through 1974, FURILLO, known as "THE STEAMER," hosted the afternoon "SPORTS TALK" and the pre- and post-game "DODGER TALK" shows on ABC Talk KABC-A/LOS ANGELES in the 70s and 80s. Later doing shows on KFOX/REDONDO BEACH and other stations, he retired in 2000 and continued to write for a local OJAI weekly paper.
