SHOCKER!!! COX Top 40 WBLI/LONG ISLAND morning legend STEVE HARPER did his last show today, capping a 25 year career at the station.
COX Dir./Top 40 Programming and WBLI PD JEREMY RICE said, "After 25 great years at WBLI, STEVE has decided to move on to his next challenge. STEVE has been an awesome, credible, reliable air personality with a sharp programming mind. He has been a joy to work with and is a total professional, without the typical morning show ego! 25 years of commitment to one radio station is quite exceptional, STEVE's hard work year after year has certainly made WBLI a better radio station. 'Crank Calls' will never be quite the same! We are looking to keep STEVE within COX, if we can." Reach STEVE HARPER at wbliradio@aol.com.
RICE explained while the search is on for a new morning star, "JONNY WEITZ and/or APD AL LEVINE will handle mornings with DANA and RANDY as we expect to have a new hire on air for the FALL book." Send your packages to JEREMY at WBLI, 555 Sunrise Highway W. BABYLON, NY 11704 or email them to jiggalongisland@aol.com.
