Willie Nelson Guitarist Jody Payne Passes

ALL ACCESS sends condolences to the family and friends of musician JODY PAYNE who passed away on SATURDAY (8/10) from cardiac complications.

PAYNE, who was 77 years old, played guitar for Country icon WILLIE NELSON from 1973 until 2008. Prior to that, he played with RAY PRICE and MERLE HAGGARD. Upon retirement, JODY resided with his wife VICKI in STAPLETON, ALABAMA where he taught guitar at a local music school.  

On SATURDAY, WILLIE confirmed the news via FACEBOOK where he posted, "Sad to report that Jody Payne passes away. Our friend will be missed. Seriously getting the band back together in heaven now."
