CBS RADIO Sports WZGC (SPORTSRADIO 92.9 THE GAME)/ATLANTA has joined the UNIVERSITY OF ALABAMA football radio network for the 2013-14 season. The station, deep in the heart of the territory of SEC rival GEORGIA, will air ELI GOLD and PHIL SAVAGE's game coverage plus pre- and post-game shows and, periodically, head coach NICK SABAN's show.
“Teaming up with such a storied and successful college football program along with Coach SABAN was a natural fit for us,” said PD TERRY FOXX. “We are proud to expand our lineup of premier sports properties, and look forward to showcasing CRIMSON TIDE football to the legion of fans in ATLANTA.”
“We are excited that our fans and alumni in ATLANTA will be able to follow the CRIMSON TIDE on our newest affiliate – 92.9 THE GAME,” said SABAN. “ We have tremendous support in the greater ATLANTA area and we currently have 19 players from GEORGIA, including 14 from within an hour of the city. ATLANTA is the city in the South and it is just three hours from TUSCALOOSA, so this is a great fit. We look forward to the beginning of a great partnership with 92.9 starting this fall with the season-opener in ATLANTA against VIRGINIA TECH at the GEORGIA DOME.”
