The PHILADELPHIA DAILY NEWS' MOLLY EICHEL is reporting that CBS RADIO Talk WPHT-A and Classic Hits WOGL/PHILADELPHIA will be moving from the BALA-CYNWYD side of City Line Avenue into PHILADELPHIA proper, joining Sports WIP-F and Sports WIP-A (CBS SPORTS RADIO 610) at 4th and Market in CENTER CITY. At the same time, News KYW-A will move out of the WIP facility to share space with sister CBS O&O KYW-TV (CBS 3) and CW affiliate WPSG-TV (THE CW PHILLY 57).
"An expiring lease brought the question of moving to the surface. By uniting KYW NEWSRADIO and CBS3/CW57, we will have the largest news-gathering organization under one roof in the Delaware Valley and be capable of great things synergistically," said SVP and Marketing Manager MARC RAYFIELD. "Plus, for the first time ever, our remaining [three] stations will be in a single location. We finally have marquee facilities as good as the people who inhabit them."
EICHEL also reports that WPHT PD ED PALLADINO is exiting the station and moving to a non-radio job, saying that he has "been doing this for 31 years and it's time for something new." PALLADINO has been with WPHT for over six years.
