WHUR Taps Frank Ski For Afternoons

FrankSki Heading For New Slopes

HOWARD UNIVERSITY Urban AC WHUR/WASHINGTON DC OM MAXX MYRICK announces FRANK SKI will be their new afternoon-drive personality. SKI is familiar to the combined BATLIMORE/WASHINGTON markets. He spent time there as a very successful club DJ back in the late '80s. He went on to become a successful morning host at RADIO ONE’s Urban WERQ in BALTIMORE.

This was followed by a 14-year run at market-leading CBS Urban WVEE (V-103)/ATLANTA. where he and co-host WANDA SMITH were #1 for their entire run. Initially SKI is not going to bring SMITH to WASHINGTON -- just his producer and an engineer. 

“I had deep conversations with God. It was a very spiritual move,” said SKI. “This will be a lifestyle focus where I’ll be able to talk about big social issues. I am lookiing forward to winning in WASHINGTON.”

FRANK SKI also owns a successful restaurant in ATLANTA. He says initially he’s going to fly up to WASHINGTON during the week and return to ATLANTA on weekends.

FRANK SKI will begin his new drive-time duties MONDAY, SEPTEMBER  9^th.
