FCC Proposal To Drop Filtering Requirement For TIS Stations Open For Comment

An FCC proposal to delete the rules requiring Travelers' Information Services stations to filter frequencies above 3 kHz is now open for public comment. The change is being proposed because, the Commission said, "The record indicates that the filtering requirement significantly decreases the audibility of TIS broadcasts while adding little to the interference protection of commercial broadcasters."
Comments in the docket are due SEPTEMBER 18th, with replies due OCTOBER 3rd.
