In an SEC filing, XM SATELLITE RADIO says that its proposal to bring some of its receiver models into compliance with emission standards has been rejected by the FCC. The company says it is continuing to develop solutions to the problems, which caused the company to stop shipping AUDIOVOX Xpress and DELPHI SkyFi2 models in MAY.
In related news, SIRIUS SATELLITE RADIO has disclosed in an SEC filing that it, too, has told its receiver manufacturers to stop making some models with internal FM transmitters that may exceed FCC emissions limits. The company says that it is continuing to review its receivers' emission levels and believes that models currently being made comply with FCC limits.
