CUMULUS Country-Christian Hybrid WWWQ-HD2-W255CJ (98.9 THE WALK)/ATLANTA has flipped to Oldies, using SCOTT SHANNON's TRUE OLDIES syndicated format.
SVP/Corporate Programming MIKE MCVAY notes, "this is a return to the airwaves for TOC’s SCOTT SHANNON. SHANNON was PD and Air-Talent at WQXI in the late 70s and early 80s."
Look for "THE WALK" BRAND to be integrated into sister Country WKHX (KICKS 101.5) in the form of a four-hour SUNDAY MORNING program on KICKS. CUMULUS Corporate PD GREG FREY tells ALL ACCESS no other programming on the station will be affected.
The format was described as "featuring great music from great artists like CARRIE UNDERWOOD, MICHAEL W. SMITH, TIM MCGRAW, STEPHEN CURTIS CHAPMAN, KENNY CHESNEY, AMY GRANT, RASCAL FLATTS, THIRD DAY and MERCY ME" when it launched earlier this year (NET NEWS 2/4)
