While he was marking time waiting for his new ESPN RADIO regionally-syndicated show to debut, PAUL FINEBAUM kept busy... as a Country songwriter, it appears.
FINEBAUM, who relocated to CHARLOTTE from BIRMINGHAM for his new show, wrote a song, "Here and My Crazy Dreams," with MUSCLE SHOALS songwriter WALT ALDRIDGE. The BIRMINGHAM NEWS/AL.COM's BOB CARLTON writes that the song includes the sample lyric, "I could stay like they thought I would/ Live the way they all said I should/ But every day, I’d have to live caught in between/ Here and my crazy dreams." The song, ALDRIDGE says, was inspired by FINEBAUM's move from his longtime ALABAMA base.
“I jokingly said to him, ‘I’ve always wanted to write a song,’” FINEBAUM said of ALDRIDGE. “It’s the kind of thing you say to a songwriter. He came back to me and said, ‘If you are serious, I would like to talk to you about it.’”
