The NEW YORK POST is reporting that ESPN is talking to the FTC about the NIELSEN-ARBITRON deal, voicing its concerns that it be able to continue to license ARBITRON's software for its cross-platform research project after the sale.
The report by JOSH KOSMAN says that ESPN SVP ARTIE BULGRIN has been meeting with the FTC about the $1.26 billion deal and that the concerns might force NIELSEN to agree to license Personal People Meter technology to competitors in order to get FTC approval.
A decision by the FTC on whether it will sue to block the deal is expected this week.
