BEASLEY FM ACQUISITION CORP. and BEASLEY RADIO have dropped their trademark infringement suit against SUN BROADCASTING, INC. for picking up the "X" slogan for its Active Rock-Alternative WXNX (93X)/SANIBEL-NAPLES-FT. MYERS after BEASLEY flipped crosstown WJBX (99X) to Sports as WWCN (99.3 FM ESPN).
BEASLEY's suit in U.S. Federal Court for the Middle District of FLORIDA claimed that it had moved the WJBX calls to what had been WWCN-A and planned to bring the "X" slogan back on the AM side when it flipped to Spanish Sports, but BEASLEY filed for voluntary dismissal of the case on AUGUST 20th and the AM station uses the slogan ESPN DEPORTES 770 now that it has flipped to Spanish Sports.
