WPOS Flipping To Contemporary Christian

MAUMEE VALLEY Southern Gospel WPOS (102.3)/HOLLAND-TOLEDO, OH is preparing to flip to Contemporary Christian.  According to PD/CLIFF SMITHERS, the plan is to begin stunting on LABOR DAY, and officially relaunch as PROCLAIM FM on MONDAY 9-9 at 6a ET.

WPOS has been in the market for 47 years, primarily as a Southern Gospel station.  PROCLAIM FM will have a Christian AC format, with some preaching and teaching sprinkled in thoughout the day.

SMITHERS, formerly afternoon-drive host on CUMULUS Country WKKO (99.9)/TOLEDO for 21 years, explains, “WPOS has served the TOLEDO Christian community for 47 years and we’re very thankful for that!  With the establishment of new management within the past year, we realized we were not going to survive within that community if we did not move forward by re-branding the radio station and giving it a whole new sound and look. Listeners will hear and see a whole new Christian radio station on MONDAY 9-9 at 6a ET!"
