FCC Appointments: Mark Stephens Named Acting Managing Director, David Bray As CIO

FCC Acting Chairwoman MIGNON CLYBURN has named MARK STEPHENS, most recently Chief Financial Officer in the FCC Office of Managing Director, as Acting Managing Director and Dr. DAVID A. BRAY, Executive Director for the bipartisan National Commission for the Review of the Research and Development Programs of the U.S. Intelligence Community, as the Commission’s Chief Information Officer.
CLYBURN also named Senior Director for the Computing Technology Industry Association and former VERIZON VP DAVID VALDEZ as Special Counsel to her office.
CLYBURN said, “I am pleased that the FCC continues to internally promote and recruit
talented individuals to continue to help manage the agency to the highest standards and to drive the agency’s mission forward. I congratulate MARK on his appointment to Acting Managing Director and thank him for his dedicated service to date. He has been an outstanding CFO in the Office of Managing Director and the Commission will continue to benefit from his deep experience and expertise.“I would also like to welcome DAVID A. BRAY and DAVID VALDEZ to the Commission where their strong leadership qualities and wide-ranging and valuable experience from the public and private sectors will be invaluable to the FCC’s management and important policy work going forward.”
