WNEW/D.C. Doubles Traffic Report Frequency During Drive Times

CBS RADIO News WNEW-F (ALL NEWS 99.1)/WASHINGTON is upping the ante for traffic reports in its battle with crosstown format leader HUBBARD News WTOP, with WNEW doubling the number of traffic reports it airs during morning and afternoon drive time.

The station will air reports from morning traffic reporter LISA BADEN and afternoon traffic reporter JULIE WRIGHT every five minutes on the 1's and 6's, the latter to be called  the “Beltway Fix on the Six.”

“Using the latest technology, coupled with our access to TOTAL TRAFFIC NETWORK’s cameras allows us to provide our listeners with an unparalleled level of traffic reporting with up to the minute precision,” said PD ROBERT SANCHEZ.  “Increasing our focus on traffic information during these critical hours means WNEW listeners will get updates several minutes before it’s available anywhere else on the radio.”
