If that sudden storm that deluged BUSCH STADIUM WEDNESDAY wasn't enough, the ST. LOUIS CARDINALS' radio station, Talk KTRS-A/ST. LOUIS, lost two of the four towers in its array in the same storm.
The 450 foot towers were knocked down in the fierce storm that also damaged the team's new ballpark and injured thirty fans. The station is operating under special temporary authority with 1,250 watts nondirectional, reduced from 5,000; KTRS' night coverage, already much smaller than former longtime flagship KMOX-A, has been a controversial element of the team's purchase of KTRS after last season.
And KTRS isn't the only station affected, as the ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH reports that the storm took SIMMONS Sports KSLG-A off the air as well.
