ALL ACCESS sends condolences to the friends and family of two former Country broadcasters.
CHARLES ALLEN passed away on SATURDAY (9/7) in NASHVILLE. ALLEN was the first-ever morning host on Country station WGKX/MEMPHIS, as well as air personality on WHBQ-A/MEMPHIS in the 60’s. CHARLES eventually went on to own a cluster of stations in MISSISSIPPI.
INDIANA radio station founder WAYNE PARADISE passed away on MONDAY (9/9). In 1967, WAYNE purchased WIFF/AUBURN, IN which broadcast Religious programming, and created sister station Country WIFF-A/AUBURN, IN in 1968. Both stations have since changed ownership, formats, call letters and frequencies.
