An online petition to change the name of WICHITA's airport to "WICHITA DWIGHT D. EISENHOWER INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT" by JOURNAL BROADCAST GROUP's JAN AND PHILMorning show on Classic Rock KFXJ (104.5 THE FOX) WICHITA/KN has recieved the support of the City Commission of ABILENE, KN, the hometown of EISEHOWER.

The WICHITA City Council received a resolution from the City Commission of ABILENE, requesting the city of WICHITA rename the WICHITA airport for President EISENHOWER. KFXJ's JAN HARRISON and PHIL THOMPSON said, "we're very happy to learn that ABILENE has made such a resolution."

The JAN AND PHIL Show has been the catalyst for the campaign to rename the WICHITA MID-CONTINENT AIRPORT. The Morning team has garnered more than 1,000 signatures so far in favor of the renaming, both online and at the three area RIVERSIDE CAFE locations.

The online petition went live AUGUST 14th and is to be delivered to the WICHITA City Council no later than OCTOBER 15th. Check out the petition at the 104.5 The Fox website, www.1045thefox.com.
