LONG ISLAND radio legend JACK ELLSWORTH passed away last night. His radio show’s FACEBOOK page announced, "We are beyond heartbroken to announce the passing of JACK ELLSWORTH last evening. JACK passed very peacefully after a recent illness, closely surrounded by love of his family, just as he wanted.
The contribution that JACK ELLSWORTH made to the world of LONG ISLAND radio is unparalleled. His passion for keeping the great music of the golden era of popular music alive was known and personally appreciated by everyone from FRANK SINATRA and BING CROSBY to the multitude of listeners who devotedly tuned into his show for decades ... The world has lost a light and a hero to many. For those of us who were blessed to hear his voice on Long Island radio every week since 1951, the silence will be deafening."
