On MONDAY (9/16) CAPITOL RECORDS and the UNIVERSITY OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA welcomed musical legend SIR ELTON JOHN to the BOVARD AUDITORIUM on the USC campus for A VISION AND VOICES SIGNATURE EVENT entitled "ELTON JOHN GOES BACK TO SCHOOL."
ELTON JOHN and his band joined the USC THORNTON SCHOOL OF MUSIC SYMPHONY, with strings, brass ensemble, and a choir. The performance included songs from the new album "The Diving Board" including the AC hit "Home Again." He also performed several of his classic hits including "Sixty Years On," "The Greatest Discovery," "Philadelphia Freedom," "Tiny Dancer," "Your Song," "The Bitch Is Back," "Bennie And The Jets," "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road," "Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me," "I Guess That's Why They Call It The Blues," and a solo encore of "Rocket Man."
The event included some story telling from T BONE BURNETT, producer of JOHN's new album and also an interview by GRAMMY FOUNDATION EVP SCOTT GOLDMAN where he discussed his career highlights, writing with BERNIE TAUPIN and some of his favorite new music. He then took questions from the audience. Look for "The Diving Board" in-stores on TUESDAY (9/24).
