ENTERCOM Sports WWWL-A (ESPN 1350)/NEW ORLEANS is switching to NBC SPORTS RADIO and rebranding with new local programming as "3WL 1350" on OCTOBER 14th.
The revised format and rebranding position the station as an extension of sister News-Talk WWL-A-F. Included in the lineup will be a local morning show with T-BOB HEBERT (son of WWL host and former SAINTS quarterback BOBBY HEBERT) and WWL SAINTS sideline reporter KRISTIAN GARIC; NBC's ERIK KUSELIAS 9a-noon; the longrunning "THE FOOD SHOW" with TOM FITZMORRIS, moving from afternoons to noon-3p; JOHN "SPUD" MCCONNELL, moving over from WWL (where he is being replaced by ANGELA HILL) to host 3-6p on 3WL; and NBC SPORTS RADIO 6p-6a.
“3WL 1350 celebrates the three greatest passions of New Orleanians: sports, food and fun! Think of 3WL as a radio station as tasty as gumbo, as fun as MARDI GRAS and as passionate as SAINTS fans on SUNDAYS,” said VP/GM CHRIS CLAUS. “3WL will build on the tremendous success of WWL, but have a focus all its own. This is an exciting time for ENTERCOM NEW ORLEANS and our clients. There is no city like NEW ORLEANS in AMERICA and there will be no station like 3WL in NEW ORLEANS.”
WWL and 3WL Operations and PD DIANE NEWMAN added, “From 6a to 6p, 3WL 1350 has a lineup that NEW ORLEANS not only knows but connects with. With sports in the morning, food at lunch, and a larger-than-life personality, SPUD MCCONNELL, in the afternoon, 3WL launches with tremendous strength, proven talent and unquestioned passion.”
