WQNY's Chris Allinger Raises $26,000

Kudos to SAGA COMMUNICATIONS Country WQNY/ITHACA, NY personality CHRIS ALLINGER, host of the station’s “WAKE UP Q” morning show, for raising more than $26,000 towards THE FOOD BANK OF THE SOUTHERN TIER’s BACKPACK PROGRAM.

ALLINGER spent MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 9th through FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 13th walking to every town in TOMPKINS COUNTY, raising funds for the program, which feeds children who are at risk of hunger.

“I couldn’t be happier with the result,” said ALLINGER.  “People got the message that there are children going hungry right here in our county. We went out and asked for three dollars to feed a child for a weekend. Look what happens when a community comes together.”
