JOURNAL BROADCAST GROUP has flipped Oldies KLIO-A (TRUE OLDIES 1070)/WICHITA to ESPN DEPORTES, which becomes the only around-the-clock Spanish-language radio network serving Hispanic sports fans in KANSAS.
“We are very excited to join with ESPN DEPORTES to broadcast live 24-hour unparalleled sports content in Spanish, including Sports Center updates, soccer, Major League Baseball and much more," JOURNAL BROADCAST GROUP/WICHITA VP/GM ERIC MCCART said. "ESPN Deportes on 1070AM will deliver a passionate and relevant sports listening experience to Latino sports fans who have been underserved in our market. It will also provide a unique opportunity for local advertisers to connect with our community’s growing Hispanic population."
“We are excited to be able to expand the ESPN Deportes brand to WICHITA’s Spanish-speaking community,” OM JUSTIN CASE added. ”With RADIO LOBO 106.5 playing Regional Mexican music and now ESPN Deportes on AM 1070, we believe we provide a valuable entertainment experience to our Latino listeners. With top talent, and quality shows covering soccer, baseball, as well as the upcoming Olympics, we are confident we can help lead the way in serving our local Latino community in exceptional ways.”
