COX MEDIA GROUP has named KEITH HASTINGS its new Rock Format Leader, effective immediately. In addition to his current role as PD for KISS and KTKX/SAN ANTONIO, HASTINGS will work closely with CMG VP/Radio Programming STEVE SMITH and all of CMG's Rock PDs at the company’s other Rock and Alternative stations including WXXJ/JACKSONVILLE, WBAB/LONG ISLAND, WSUN/TAMPA and KJSR/TULSA.
"We were incredibly fortunate to add KEITH HASTINGS to our programming team earlier this year," said CMG EVP/Radio KIM GUTHRIE. "He is a seasoned pro in the Rock format, making this a natural step to put his rock instincts to work with all of our COX MEDIA GROUP Rock stations across the country."
"KEITH's proven track record shines with multiple triumphs across the country," said STEVE SMITH. "We're extremely lucky to have KEITH on our team. He's moved KISS back into the top five with adults age 25-54, and we look forward to his many more successes in SAN ANTONIO and in working with our talented Rock PDs."
"I'm extremely grateful to KIM GUTHRIE, STEVE SMITH and DAN LAWRIE for this opportunity. To work alongside so many excellent programmers, raising the game for COX MEDIA Rock brands everywhere, is both humbling and an honor. Several in our industry have supported my professional growth over the years, as has my family, and I’m thankful to all of them for affording me the ability to take this next step with a truly amazing group of broadcasters."
HASTINGS has worked for some of the most iconic brands in several variations of the Rock format including PD at GREATER MEDIA’s WCSX/DETRIOT, ENTERCOM's WAAF/BOSTON and SAGA COMMUNICATIONS’ WHQG and WLZR/MILWAUKEE and WAQY/SPRINGFIELD, MA.
