Last SUNDAY's final episode of the acclaimed AMC series Breaking Bad, which ended with the airing of BADFINGER's 1972 top-20 hit, "Baby Blue," has dramatically revitalized interest and sales of the song, the L.A. TIMES reports. "The episode, which attracted more than 10 million viewers, fueled sales of the tune, which went from essentially nowhere to #9 on AMAZON.COM's MP3 chart. SPOTIFY reported that streams of the song jumped 9,000% after the finale aired.
Industry sources predicted that sales of the song would increase nearly 3,000% -- almost 5,000 downloads -- from one night alone. Ironically, that was the only night counted in last week's Digital Track sales chart, where the #200 song sold 8,000 tracks for the entire week. 'Baby Blue" sales for MONDAY and the rest of this week will be reported next WEDNESDAY (10/9).
Here's the final scene.
