Report: KDAY Sale To RBC Called Off

Sale Off?

L.A. WEEKLY is reporting that sources are telling the paper that the sale by MAGIC BROADCASTING's KDAY LICENSING, LLC/KDAI LICENSING, LLC of Urban Oldies KDAY/REDONDO BEACH-LOS ANGELES and KDEY/ONTARIO, CA to ANTHONY YUEN's RBC COMMUNICATIONS' RBC LICENSE, LLC for $19.5 million is off.  The sale was the subject of a campaign by fans of the classic hip-hop format to block the sale, which would see the stations flip to Chinese-language programming.

The paper quotes GM ZEKE CHIADEZ as not denying the report, but saying, "We have been told by the ownership group that they will be getting back to us on any details soon, but I don't have an official statement on whether that's true."

Louisiana Deal Closes

In a deal that has been completed, ALEX MEDIA, INC. has closed on ths sale of Silent KDLC/DULAC, LA to JOHN M. DOWDY's COASTAL RADIO GROUP, INC. for $440,000.
