Former CBS affiliate KMOV-TV/ST. LOUIS news anchor LARRY CONNERS has been released from his noncompete by a judge, but only for radio jobs. The ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH reports that ST. LOUIS COUNTY Circuit Judge KRISTINE ALLEN KERR has dropped radio from CONNERS' noncompete but left the prohibition from taking another job in television for a year after his firing from KMOV intact.
CONNERS was fired in MAY over FACEBOOK comments indicating his belief that he was being pressured by the IRS after he interviewed President OBAMA; a lien for back taxes agains CONNERS predated the interview. He told the POST-DISPATCH that he has talked to "several" local radio stations, who were hesitant to discuss specific contract terms due to the noncompete.
