ENTERCOM is in talks to put the studios of its newly-acquired SPRINGFIELD, MA move-in in the BASKETBALL HALL OF FAME building, reports the BOSTON HERALD. The company bought WVEI/EASTHAMPTON, MA (formerly WBEC-F/PITTSFIELD) for $5.75 million with the intent of simulcasting its Sports WEEI/BOSTON plus BOSTON RED SOX and CELTICS play-by-play.
ENTERCOM BOSTON VP/NEW ENGLAND Market Manager JULIE KAHN told the HERALD that the station "would like to build a showcase" in the HALL because "we have something to offer the casual visitor about the power of sports in NEW ENGLAND." The station's present lease expires in eight months.
