On the FIRST DAY (10/15) of the annual CMJ MUSIC MARATHON from 5-9p, FORDHAM UNIVERSITY Triple A WFUV/NEW YORK is heading to ROCKWOOD MUSIC HALL to showcase an international quartet of groups and artists.
FUV LIVE AT CMJ will broadcast live performances by the BROOKLYN indie-pop band LUCIUS, the NEW JERSEY-based SAINT RICH, BRITISH singer-songwriter JAMES BAY, and the GERMAN synthpop outfit CLAIRE (who will be making their U.S. radio debut at ROCKWOOD). WFUV air personalities RITA HOUSTON, RUSS BORRIS, CARMEL HOLT and ALISA ALI will host the broadcast and also spin some tunes in the back room at ROCKWOOD between sets.
“The CMJ MUSIC MARATHON is the place for emerging artists to showcase their talents, and WFUV is the source in NEW YORK for music discovery, so this is a natural,” said WFUV MD RUSS BORRIS. “Our first CMJ showcase last year included SAVOIR ADORE and LITTLE GREEN CARS, who’ve started to take off. Maybe these artists will have the same kind of success.
