Digital advertising revenue surged 18% in the first half of 2013 to a landmark $20.1 billion, according to the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB). That's a big change from the 3% year-over-year growth that Nielsen reported for its total ad market. Showing a fifth consecutive mid-year report of double-digit gains, interactive ad revenue is on pace to shatter last year's record of $36.6 billion.
"Our growth is because more dollar volume is moving into digital rather than price increases," SHERRILL MANE, IAB SVP of Research Analytics & Measurement, said during a webinar yesterday.
