As ALL ACCESS previously reported (NET NEWS 9/30), R DUB!, creator and host of SUNDAY NIGHT SLOW JAMS and LOCAL MEDIA Top 40/Rhythmic XHTZ (Z90)- Rhythmic AC XHRM (MAGIC 92.5)/SAN DIEGO PD was headed to ABC-TV's SHARK TANK to help expand his syndicated show, and that appearance in front of the five sharks aired FRIDAY night. R DUB! was seeking $75,000 for 10% equity in his business... but the sharks weren't biting.
After the sales pitch that included a live performance by BRIAN MCKNIGHT, a favorite on his weekly show, shark MARK CUBAN dashed cold water on his dream. "Syndicated radio is a horrible business." And KEVIN O'LEARY concurred: "The radio market, as an investment, sucks."
R DUB! said money would go to hiring an in-house affiliate sales director.
All five sharks passed on his proposal.
