Nearly 5,000 MADONNA fans in the U.S. have signed a petition that accuses CLEAR CHANNEL of refusing to play songs from the MATERIAL MOM's "Confessions On A Dancefloor" -- her latest album -- stateside because the singer has been an outspoken opponent of the war and has disparaged PRESIDENT BUSH during her live shows, reports MSNBC. The petition, which is being sent to CC CEO MARK MAYS, notes that MADONNA holding the top two positions in the United World Chart while at the same time getting very little U.S. airplay is "evidence ... too obvious for words" that there's a boycott on MADONNA's new songs in the STATES.
While CLEAR CHANNEL has yet to officially respond to the allegations, the MSNBC report adds that, when MADONNA fans call in to request songs, they are usually told she is "too old or not popular enough."
