Arbitron: PPM Gives Boost To Live Sports Audience

ARBITRON has released a study on the Portable People Meter's measurement of sports play-by-play on radio, and the company says that the PPM consistently captures more listening to live sporting events. The study, from the HOUSTON PPM trial, shows the greatest difference coming in games with afternoon or early-evening start times. The study also showed cumes being higher when event start times are earlier, talk show cumes rising after big wins or losses, and big audiences for the World Cup (in Spanish) and the NFL Draft.
