TOM POLEMAN, CLEAR CHANNEL MEDIA AND ENTERTAINMENT's President of National Programming Platforms will be feted at the first MUSICIANS ON CALL gala.
The NOVEMBER 12th event at GOTHAM HALL in NEW YORK CITY features performance by PARAMORE and GAVIN DEGRAW. CLEAR CHANNEL Top 40 WHTZ(Z100)/NEW YORK and syndicated morning host ELVIS DURAN will emcee the evening.
MOC is a nonprofit organization that brings live and recorded music to the bedsides of patients.
DR. LESLIE FAERSTEIN, Executive Director of Musicians On Call, said. "TOM POLEMAN has been a driving force behind MUSICIANS ON CALL for over a decade. He has not only served as Co-Chairperson of the Board of Directors, where he had helped to steer the course of MOC, but he has been a volunteer musician at the bedsides of patients many times – most recently early this week in LOS ANGELES at the MATTEL CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL at UCLA. Thanks to TOM and CLEAR CHANNEL'S support, MUSICIANS ON CALL has been able to raise funds to grow our Bedside Performance Programs to 42 times a week in 6 cities. It is most fitting that our first event honoring someone for outstanding commitment to the organization goes to TOM POLEMAN. He sets the bar high."
POLEMAN, with CLEAR CHANNEL for more than 15 years, was honored in 2006 by the EXPLORER'S CLUB, 2004 by LIFEbeat - The Music Industry Fights AIDS, 1999 by the T.J. MARTELL FOUNDATION and, that same year, as the recipient of the GLORIA SWANSOM HUMANITARIAN AWARD by the AMERICAN CINEMA AWARDS FOUNDATION.
