Last night (10/23), the HOLLYWOOD BOWL was the setting for the KATY PERRY'S WE CAN SURVIVE concert. The event, sponsored by CBS RADIO, raised money for the YOUNG SURVIVAL COALITION, an organization supporting young women battling breast cancer.
The sold-out show featured BONNIE MCKEE, KACEY MUSGRAVES, TEGAN & SARA, SARA BAREILLES and ELLIE GOULDING, who performed brief sets, one after another, on a massive revolving stage.
It has been quite a week for PERRY, who has been everywhere celebrating the release of her new album, PRISM. When the singer took the stage, she opened with her first #1 smash, "I Kissed A Girl." She then performed songs from the new album and also from 'Teenage Dream,' closing her set with a fantastic fireworks display during (of course) 'Firework.' Following the song, PERRY invited all of the evening's performers back to the stage for a fitting finale, a powerful performance of her recent smash 'Roar.'
Proceeds from ticket and merchandise sales will go to the charity. Those still wishing to donate can go to the YSC website or text 'SURVIVE' to 80888 to give a one-time donation of $10.
