Multiple media reports have former WMG chief LYOR COHEN working with GOOGLE and other investors into backing his new music venture. BILLBOARD reports that the venture would be distributed through ATLANTIC RECORDS, and has brought in former WMG execs TODD MOSCOWITZ and KEVIN LILES to be part of the new venture.
According to the N.Y. POST, COHEN who currently manages rapper RICK ROSS, will continue to have a management arm in the new entity.
COHEN, who left WMG a little over a year ago, reportedly is trying to blend a marketing and distribution infrastructure of a major with a cost structure of a more flexible indie.
