Longtime NEW YORK CITY DJ DAVE HERMAN has been arrested in the VIRGIN ISLANDS for soliciting with a minor, NBCNEWYORK.COM reports. Federal prosecutors allege that HERMAN, 77, attempted to transport a 7-year-old girl from NEW JERSEY to the VIRGIN ISLANDS to have sex with her.
HERMAN had been communicating online with an undercover law enforcement officer, posing as the mother of the young girl, for several months, when he offered to have them meet at his vacation home in ST. CROIX. He then bought plane tickets for them to travel there on THURSDAY will still discussing "his plan to engage in sexual activity" with the girl.
He went to the ST. CROIX airport to meet the mother and daughter, where he was arrested. A court appearance has been set.
