Last NIGHT (10/27), the COUNTRY MUSIC HALL OF FAME AND MUSEUM (CMHOF) held its annual "MEDALLION CEREMONY" to induct three new artists into the HALL OF FAME (NET NEWS 4/10).
The new inductees were BOBBY BARE in the "Veteran Era Artist" category, KENNY ROGERS in the "Modern Era Artist" category, and ‘COWBOY’ JACK CLEMENT in the "Non-Performer" category. The red-carpet event was the first to be held in the CMHOF’s new 760-seat CMA THEATER, which was part of the MUSEUM’s recent multi-millon dollar expansion (NET NEWS 7/28/11).
JOHN PRINE, KRIS KRISTOFFERSON, MARTY STUART and EMMYLOU HARRIS all performed to honor COWBOY JACK, with RODNEY CROWELL, BUDDY MILLER, KRIS KRISTOFFERSON, and JOHN ANDERSON performing tributes to BOBBY BARE, and DARIUS RUCKER, DON SCHLITZ, BARRY GIBB, KELLY LANG and ALISON KRAUSS paying musical tribute to KENNY ROGERS. Other appearances throughout the night included GARTH BROOKS, TOM T. HALL, CHARLEY PRIDE, CONNIE SMITH, BARBARA MANDRELL, and more.
