Report: Classical KDB On The Block

SANTA BARBARA COMMUNITY BROADCASTING Classical KDB/SANTA BARBARA, CA is now up for sale, reports THE SANTA BARBARA INDEPENDENT. The 87-year-old station, the oldest in the market, ran more than $400,000 in deficits over the last three years with even more loss expected this year.

KDB tried to pay for an annual operating budget of approx. $900,000 through about $400,000 in advertising revenue, with the rest being generated through fundraising. Unfortunately, "While our advertising sales have been on a gradual increase the past couple of years, taken together the combined donor and ad revenue still wasn’t enough to make KDB financially self-sufficient,” KDB GM TIM OWENS said.
