The weather is much calmer TODAY (10/29) in the NEW YORK CITY metro area. However, OCTOBER 29th, 2012 was a different story as SUPERSTORM SANDY was making landfall across the region.
This morning, CURTIS SLIWA is taking his SALEM COMMUNICATIONS WNYM(970 AM THE ANSWER)/NEW YORK broadcast on the road.
His producer FRANK MORANO tweeted, "We're live from the ANNADALE DINER in STATEN ISLAND from 6-9a this morning. Stop by and say hello."
MORANO told ALL ACCESS, "This is a very special show for us. In the aftermath of Hurricane SANDY, while other local radio stations were knocked off the air or forced to take the audio feed of TV news, we managed in spite of not having power or having slept in days to not only remain on the hour but do eight hours of our show every day."
We previously detailed (NET NEWS 10/21) some of TODAY's coverage plans by CBS RADIO sister stations WCBS-A and WINS/NEW YORK.
